James Shen is Vice President, Qualcomm International, Inc. and Managing Director at Qualcomm Ventures. He leads Qualcomm’s venture investments in Greater China, with over 60+ companies, including Xiaomi, ThunderSoft, NetQin, Mobike, Unisound, SenseTime and Huaqin, all valued above $1 billion USD. James was General Manager of the joint venture by China Telecom and Qualcomm, as well as the head of the Qualcomm Internet Services China business unit. Prior to joining Qualcomm, he was founder and CEO of NeTrue Communications, which went public in 2000. He co-founded China Corporate VC Alliance in 2018.
James received a Master’s Degree in Communication Management from University of Southern California and B.S. Degree in Electronic Engineering from Zhejiang University.

Besides work, James is actively involved in FamilyLife, a marriage ministry. He is a mentor to CKGBS MBA students and USC Annenberg School students. He also wrote and directed a short film in 2017, which won Best Short Competition in California. He enjoys golf and skiing.
